Seven hundred years in the life of the Basilica and the Convent of Santa Croce have bequeathed a historic and artistic heritage of inestimable value, which is also an illustration of the spiritual and civil life which has characterised the history of the complex.
This heritage also includes the Archives, which were set up following the various activities which were and continue to be performed within Santa Croce. As well as the Archives of the Opera , to which a specific section is devoted, we would also mention:

The Historic Archive of the Convent, which conserves the documentation produced and gathered by the Franciscan community of Santa Croce.
Most of this archive is now conserved in the Florence State Archive while in the convent there is still a small part of the Historic Archive and the entire Modern Archive, starting from the end of the nineteenth century.

The Archive of the Provincia Toscana dei Francescani Minori Conventuali, which comprises the documents originating from various Franciscan convents in Tuscany, starting from the seventeenth century.
As well as the Archive, the Provincia Toscana dei Minori Conventuali also conserves a precious Library equipped with a paper catalogue, as yet incomplete.

The Archive of Città di Vita, which contains all the documentation concerning the activity carried out by the publishing house since 1946, all the issues of its publication and a photo archive.

The Archive of the “Pietro Parigi” Museum, containing the records of all the works of the xylographer, his personal documents and the critical articles on his work; this archive also contains various prints and blocks which are not displayed in the museum.
