Requests for areas for events

To request the temporary use of internal and external areas located within the Complex, an application must be submitted to the Opera di Santa Croce at least sixty days before the date scheduled for use

The request should contain a detailed description of the activity, the initiative and the programmes to be carried out, in terms both of the contents and of the logistical, technical and functional requirements, as well as documentation that enables confirmation of the prerequisites laid down by the internal regulations.

The consent to the granting of the spaces and the use of the related services is however restricted to activities that are compatible with:

  • the destination of use of the premises;
  • the structural and functional features of the spaces and the decor elements;
  • the accessibility and security measures established by the internal security plan.

Moreover, general criteria for the evaluation and selection of the requests are:
the existence of the essential requirements of compatibility of the contents and a guarantee of the correctness of the management of the activities intended to be performed and of temporal compatibility with other ordinary events or functions of service;

Request for video filming/photo shoots

To carry out photo shoots and/or video filming inside the Complex application must be made to the Opera di Santa Croce (Via de’ Benci, 15 – 50122 Firenze; tel./fax 055.2466105; e-mail segreteria@operadisantacroce.it) specifying the day, time and duration of the shoots, the subjects to be filmed and the type of equipment that will be used.

It is also essential to obtain the following authorisations both for shoots taken for personal or study purposes and for those destined to publication, addressing the request jointly to:

  1. Soprintendenza per il Patrimonio Storico Artistico ed Etnoantropologico per le province di Firenze, Pistoia e Prato (Piazza Pitti, 1 – 50125 Firenze; tel 055.265171/fax 055.219397);
  2. Prefettura di Firenze (Via Giacomini, 8 – 50132 Firenze; tel. 055.27831, fax 055.2783756/055.2783719, e-mail patrizia.bandinelli@interno.it)

The times and procedures for the shoots can be agreed after both authorisations have been received by the Opera.

In the case of images and videos destined to publication, a fee has to be paid which shall be agreed and paid directly to the Prefettura.

In the case of shoots to be taken outside the opening hours of the Complex, a contribution shall be due to the Opera di Santa Croce, the amount and method of payment of which will be indicated at the time of the request.

All those who take photos or shoot videos, either for publication or for reasons of study and research, are bound to deliver a copy of each take or shoot to the Photo Archive of the Opera di Santa Croce.
